Valley Gardens Grove

Thanks to the generous support of the City of Winnipeg through the Home Grown Grant and the hard work of Nick Wagstaff and his team from Above and Below Tree Care, we have a beautiful new grove of young trees at Valley Gardens CC.

We have planted 21 new trees with a diverse variety for a vibrant ecosystem. You’ll find maples in silver and red, hackberries, elms, basswoods, golden lindens, and mountain ash. One day we will have a lush canopy of shade near the splashpad for those hot summer afternoons.

We hope the community will enjoy watching these young trees grow and help us to nurture them to maturity. Unfortunately, none of the trees will be ready for climbing for many years yet; we know how much kids enjoy a good climbing tree so please remind them the trees need more time.
