Compost with valley gardens and compost Winnipeg

Valley Gardens Community Centre has partnered with Compost Winnipeg since 2024 to support the Community Food Waste Drop-Off Program.

In our first year, we had to add additional bins! The community response has been positive and we have diverted approximately 17,000 kg in one year.

Please remember that while pizza boxes are accepted, they MUST be torn up into pieces. They take up a lot of space and we need all that space in the bins.

We have also served as a pumpkin drop-off site for many years, diverting mountains of jack-o-lanterns from the garbage dump. No pumpkins in the bins folks.
